ADNOC Awards Offshore Contract

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded McDermott International, Inc a front end engineering design (FEED) contract for phase one of the Umm Shaif Gas Cap Condensate Development Project in Abu Dhabi.

McDermott stated that it will provide FEED services on a design-competition basis under the contract. Moreover, the company noted that its scope of work includes preparing and submitting an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) proposal reflecting the offshore facilities design developed during the FEED.

“This award reflects the market’s recognition that McDermott is well qualified to provide execution-focused engineering design services to clients,” Linh Austin, McDermott’s senior vice president for Middle East and North Africa, said.

“Our extensive EPCI experience allows us to deliver technically robust engineering design to clients as a ‘one-stop-shop’ on a global scale.”

Work on the FEED project will start immediately, stated McDermott, adding that it will execute work from its London office with support from its Dubai and Chennai locations.

The company did not specify the contract amount but noted that it ranges in value from US$1 million to US$50 million.
