Ampelmann providing walk-to-work services offshore India

McDermott has contracted Ampelmann to provide an A-type Enhanced Performance (AEP) gangway system for use offshore eastern India.

The system was mobilised in Singapore on the MVW Falcon.

This is the company’s first project off the east coast of India. The project, with a duration of about 50 days, is taking place during monsoon season.

The Ampelmann AEP system is said to be able to handle strong winds, high waves, and unpredictable weather conditions.

The AEP makes full use of the company’s motion compensation technology, enabling safe personnel transfers in sea states up to four metres (13 feet) Hs, allowing for more uptime and higher efficiency.
