Anyala West goes onstream offshore Nigeria

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and FIRST E&P joint venture has started oil production from the Anyala West field in oil mining leases (OMLs) 83 and 85.

The blocks are in the shallow waters of the Niger Delta where FIRST E&P is the operator on behalf of the joint venture.

The Anyala – Madu field development project objective is to develop 142 MMbbl of oil and 98 bcf of gas from the fields in Phase 1, using the FPSO Abigail-Joseph. This is a 274-metre (899-foot) long converted Suezmax trading tanker with a storage capacity of 700,000 bbl, oil processing capacity of 60,000 b/d, produced water treatment of 20,000 b/d, and a gas handling capacity of 39 MMcf/d.

Phase 1 includes seven development wells in the Anyala West field in OML 83, which will be developed along with the nearby Madu field in OML 85 to be jointly produced in the FPSO Abigail-Joseph.

Each field is being developed with an unmanned conductor supported platform.

The project was carried out with more than 2.5 million man-hours with zero lost time injury, according to FIRST E&P.
