June target for South Pars Phase 11 drilling offshore Iran

Load-out has started of the Platform 11B jacket for Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field development in the Persian Gulf.

According to news service Shana, the 2,120-t, 80.5-metre (264-foot) tall structure will be installed in the 11B area of South Pars, 135 km (84 miles) off the Assaluyeh coast.

The jacket has 15 x 26-inch diameter conductor guides.

If the weather remains stable, operator Petropars plans to start drilling wells in June.

Total and CNPCI pulled out of the project following the US’ decision to re-impose sanctions against Iran.
