Kish pipeline shore pull completed offshore Iran

Shore-pulling operations have finished for an extension of the Kish-Garzeh offshore gas pipeline project in the Persian Gulf.

Pars Oil and Gas Company official Abdullah Mehrabi told news service Shana that the programme on the 2.2-km (1.37-mile) subsea pipeline extension started on the 21st July on Kish Island and was completed within seven days.

Iran Offshore Engineering and Construction Company will manage the remainder of the pipelay to the Garzeh area (Bandar Aftab) using a C Master vessel.

Once the full pipeline is in service, Kish Island will be connected to the seventh national gas transmission line (Iran Trunkline 7).

In a separate report, an Iranian team has overhauled the Sahar 1 and 2 offshore drilling rigs, the programme reconstruction work on pumps, drilling systems, structures, and other equipment.

The rigs will be used to repair and drill oil wells at depths of up to 4,000 m (13,123 ft) in the Persian Gulf.
