ODE takes installation operator role at Premier’s Tolmount

ODE Asset Management (ODE AM), a subsidiary of engineering and operations support services contractor ODE Group, has been appointed as an installation operator of the Tolmount Platform in the Southern North Sea.

 

The Tolmount platform and associated gas export pipeline comprise the Humber Gathering System, which is owned by Humber Gathering System Limited (HGSL), a Kellas Midstream company and Dana Petroleum.

 

The Humber Gathering System will initially deliver gas from the Tolmount field, owned by Premier Oil and Dana Petroleum, to the Easington onshore gas terminal.

 

The Tolmount platform, a normally unattended installation, is now under construction, with first gas planned for the fourth quarter of 2020.

 

ODE said on the 3rd October that, as the installation operator, it would be responsible for the safe operation of the platform and provide operations, maintenance, and integrity support services.

 

ODE is currently providing operational input throughout the project execution phase and has full responsibility for operational readiness.

 

ODE AM managing director Paul Chilvers said: “We are very pleased to be taking on the role of installation operator for the Tolmount platform. This appointment further strengthens our growth strategy, which, aligned with our recent office opening in Aberdeen, provides the basis for ODEAM to take on further installation operator contracts.”

 

Alan Murray, HGSL’s operations and projects director, added: “ODE AM is an experienced name in the SNS and is bringing its experience to bear in a positive manner on the Tolmount project. This is an exciting new development, and we look forward to ODE AM playing its part in the future success of the venture.”

 

The Tolmount gas field was sanctioned by operator Premier in August 2018. The sanction was preceded by the approval of the development back in June 2018.

 

At the time of sanction, Premier said that the Tolmount Main gas field was expected to produce around 500 bcf of gas (96 mmboe) with peak production of up to 300 mmscfd (58 kboepd).
