Stena Power offering FSRUs for LNG projects

Stena Power and LNG Solutions and Global Energy Storage (GES) have formed a partnership to advance LNG logistics and storage opportunities.

They plan to offer their full LNG terminal and logistics services, expertise from floating storage and regasification units (FSRU) to onshore terminals and fixed jetties.

In addition, Stena has three LNG carriers which can be deployed as FSRUs or for floating storage, potentially together with jetty-less and/or offshore power solutions which do not need onshore facilities.

Peter Vucins, CEO of GES, said: “We regard LNG as an important transition fuel, especially in emerging markets where there is a strong demand for gas and power and a structural need to switch from coal to lower carbon solutions such as LNG.

“We are also interested in exploring opportunities with regard to blue hydrogen production where LNG is combined with carbon capture to make low carbon hydrogen.”
