Boskalis expands construction vessel fleet

Boskalis has acquired the construction support vessel Southern Ocean from Oceanteam Bourbon 4 AS.

 

The DP-2 vessel will be renamed Boka Ocean and deployed on various types of offshore energy projects. For instance, the installation of array and export cables, mooring systems of floating structures, and other subsea construction and decommissioning works.

 

Delivered by a European yard in 2010, the vessel has an overall length of 134 metres (440 feet), a beam of 27 metres (89 feet), a total deck space of 2,400 square metres (25,833 square feet) and is equipped with two large heave compensated cranes and a 7.2- x 7.2-metres (24- 24-feet) moonpool.

 

The vessel offers accommodation for 120 persons.
