BP Gas Marketing signs LNG deal for Greater Tortue Ahmeyim

BP and its partners have signed a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim gas-condensate development offshore Mauritania and Senegal.

According to one of the partners, Kosmos Energy,  BP Gas Marketing will take 2.45 million metric tons/yr of LNG from Phase 1 of the project for an initial term of up to 20 years.

Todd Niebruegge, Kosmos’ senior vice president and head of the company’s Mauritania-Senegal business unit, said: “With the signing of this agreement, we have materially increased the proved reserve base of the company and the project remains on track to deliver first gas in the first half of 2022.”

Other partners in the cross-border project are state oil companies SMHPM and Petrosen.
