Filanovsky wellhead platform in place in the Caspian Sea

Production from Lukoil’s Vladimir Filanovsky in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea recently passed 15 MM metric tons (16.5 MM tons), nearly three years after start-up.

Work continues on the third-stage of infrastructure development focused on the western part of the field, with the wellhead platform topsides (mini-platform) having been mounted on its bearing units at the offshore location.

Total weight of the structure is more than 2,800 metric tons (3,086 tons).

A self-elevating floating rig will drill wells from the wellhead platform, with oil production due to start later this year.

The platform will be minimally manned and almost fully automated.
