Gazprom issues findings on giant gas discovery offshore Russia

Gazprom has named a new gas field discovered last year in the Kara Sea off northern Russia ‘75 Let Pobedy’ (75 Years of Victory).

The Skuratovskaya prospect on the shelf of the Yamal Peninsula (north-west Siberia) is thought to hold more than 200 bcm of recoverable reserves.

During drilling, the well tested up to 746,000 cu m/d of gas.

Gazprom submitted its findings on the discovery this March to Russia’s Federal Agency for Mineral Resources.

Last year, the company also discovered the Dinkov and Nyarmeyskoye fields on the same shelf.

In addition, it holds subsurface use licences for the Leningradskoye and Rusanovskoye fields.
