Jadestone inching closer to control of Maari offshore New Zealand

Jadestone Energy has received approval from the co-venturers to join the Maari production project offshore New Zealand as operator.

Earlier this year the company agreed to acquire a 69% interest from OMV.

Applications are progressing with regulators on other standard consents, and Jadestone aims to complete the acquisition later this year.

The Maari project will add 12.2 MMbbl to the company’s net reserves, with potential to add value through tapping the field’s large oil-in-place volumes.

Offshore north-west Australia, the company responded to COVID-19 restrictions earlier this year by delaying three well workovers at the Stag field and a repair to the Skua-10 well at the Montara field. This allowed reductions of personnel required offshore.

Offshore Vietnam, Jadestone continues talks with the government on a gas sales and purchase agreement for its planned Nam Du/U Minh gas field development.
