Lukoil initiates Filanovsky Phase 2 drilling in the Caspian Sea

Lukoil has completed the majority of the construction works at the Vladimir Filanovsky field Phase 2 development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.

 

Drilling has now started on the first production well, and this should be completed in early 2018. ​

 

The Phase 2 facilities will allow the field to attain the stabilized production plateau of six million metric tons/yr (6.6 million tons).

 

Currently six production and two injection wells are operating at the Phase 1 facilities.

 

Cumulative production to date has exceeded five million metric tons of oil (5.5 million tons).
