New UK PM Appoints New Energy Leader

Andrea Leadsom has been appointed Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

In a video posted on the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s (DBEIS) twitter page, Ms Leadsom said it was a “great honour” to be appointed. She replaces Greg Clark, who held the position from July 2016 to July 2019.

Ms Leadsom was Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons from June 2017 to May 2019. The secretary of state has overall responsibility for the DBEIS.
