Saturn begins drilling programme targeting Viking light oil

Saturn Oil & Gas Inc, Calgary, has begun a three-well development drilling programme in West Central Saskatchewan.

Saturn will drill three extended reach horizontal (ERH) wells targeting light oil in the Viking formation. Each well will be 100% working interest to Saturn with the first well expected to spud in August.

The company also will perform other field activities and workovers at its Viking asset with the intent of enhancing current production.

The three wells kick off the company’s operated drilling programme which it intends to expand in this year’s fourth quarter and into next year, said John Jeffrey, Saturn’s chief executive officer in a release on the 3^rd August.
