Turkmennebit extends Tatneft Goturdepe field contract

Turkmenistan has extended a contract with PJSC Tatneft aimed at increasing the flow rate of wells in the onshore Goturdepe oil and gas field.

State company Turkmennebit extended the service contract for an additional eight years.

Turkmennebit has worked with Tatneft under a now-concluded contract for workover services and enhanced oil recovery at the field since 2010.

Through a US$32-million investment, the project has restored oil production at 128 wells, mainly from idle stocks and stocks awaiting physical liquidation, the company said.

In December 2018, the partners signed a new agreement to overhaul 88 wells.

Within its framework, the Tatneft branch in Balkanabat produced an additional recruitment of Turkmen specialists and formed 12 teams.

Currently, 48 underground wells have been commissioned.
