Van Gogh floater goes back in service offshore Australia

Santos has resumed production through the FPSO Ningaloo Vision offshore Western Australia following scheduled maintenance in drydock in Singapore.

The vessel, connected to the Van Gogh, Coniston and Novara oil fields, is currently ramping-up production again and should reach 10,000 b/d in the next few weeks.

During 2Q, the company plans to start a second phase of infill drilling at Van Gogh, targeting around 10 MMbbl, with first oil scheduled for 4Q.

The semi-submersible Valaris MS-1 will manage the three-well campaign, with drilling expected to start within weeks.

Production from Van Gogh in the WA-35-L permit started in 2010, followed by Coniston and Novara in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Santos has a 52.5% operated interest in the Van Gogh-Coniston-Novara project, the remainder owned by INPEX.
