Noble wins assignments in the UK, Timor-Leste

Noble Corporation has issued an update on its offshore drilling rig fleet.

Spirit Energy has contracted the jack-up Noble Hans Deul to drill in the UK North Sea.

Drilling is expected to start in early April and end in late October.

Offshore Timor-Leste, ConocoPhillips has contracted the jack-up Noble Tom Prosser.

Drilling is expected to begin in April and end in early December.

In Malaysia, Noble has warm stacked the jack-up Noble Sam Hartley.

The drilling contractor also is preparing to cold stack the jack-ups Noble David Tinsley and Noble Alan Hay.

Noble also has contracted Speedcast International Ltd to provide new IT communications equipment and fully managed connectivity services to its global drilling fleet.

Through a combination of satellite very small aperture terminals and 4G/LTE in key regions, Speedcast will deliver end-to-end managed communication services to Noble’s fleet of vessels and rigs.

The solution includes a technology change-out of the fleet’s entire hardware infrastructure, with installations of dual-band antennas and the latest modem technologies to maximise throughput, security, and redundancy.
