Canopius swoops for energy leader from Beazley
Specialty re/insurer Canopius has hired Rachel Sabbarton as a senior underwriter within its energy team.
Ms Sabbarton joins from Beazley Group, where she was deputy head of energy. She will report to Geoff Tin before succeeding him in the role of head of energy in the summer of 2019.
BMS makes senior energy hire from Price Forbes
Specialist re/insurance broker BMS Group has hired Duncan Hayward as a director in its energy division.
Mr Hayward most recently served as a divisional director at Lloyd’s broker Price Forbes.
Prior to that, he served as an associate at JLT, having begun his insurance career as an oil and gas broker at Agnew Higgins Pickering.
Mr Hayward, who will join BMS in 2019 and lead the casualty initiative within the energy division.
Brit Global Specialty taps cyber, technology leader from Beazley
Specialty re/insurer Brit has hired Beazley’s Jeff Norton as senior vice president, cyber & technology for Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU).
Mr Norton joins BGSU in Chicago, reporting to Tom Bongi, executive vice president, professional liability.
He will be responsible for leading BGSU’s cyber & technology team.
Mr Norton comes from Beazley Group where he was a senior underwriter, private enterprise.
He was responsible for leading the US private enterprise cyber offering.
