Market veteran Sharp joins SSL as non-executive director

London market veteran Ralph Sharp has been appointed a non-executive director of SSL Insurance Brokers Ltd, the marine-focused intermediary recently reacquired by founder Andrew Sturdy.

Aon has added Ray Spreadbury as executive director and Sarah Burston as director in the offshore wind team within its Global Broking Centre (GBC).

Alliant in California Adds Aon’s Whipple in Energy & Marine

Newport Beach, California-based Alliant Insurance Services has named Derek Whipple senior vice president of energy and marine.

Mr Whipple is located on the West Coast, and has a specialised focus on power-related energy.

He was previously a managing director at Aon. He’s also spent time at Marsh, and Willis. He has more than 25 years of experience in power generation, conventional thermal plants, such as gas and coal-fired facilities to renewable energy including solar, wind, storage, and alternative technologies.
