Record gas deliveries for Baltic Sea pipeline

Nord Stream AG transported 59.2 bcm of gas to consumers in Europe last year through the Nord Stream pipeline.

This was the highest annual figure since the start of operations in 2011 for the system, which transports Russian gas across the Baltic Sea to northern Germany.

By the end of 2020, the pipeline had delivered a total of close to 382 bcm.

In May 2020, the German Federal Network Agency granted Nord Stream a derogation from the application of the primary provisions of the EU Gas Directive.

Scheduled maintenance and inspection of the pipeline went ahead last year in accordance

with industry standards, despite COVID-19 restrictions.
