Tierra del Fuego appraisal well starts flow

Roch SA, Buenos Aires, has started oil production from a well drilled to appraise its 2008 San Martin discovery in Tierra del Fuego and cased a second appraisal as a possible producer.

According to Crown Point Energy Inc, a 51.56% interest holder based in Calgary, the SM a-1002 appraisal well started producing on the 15th August from the Jurassic Tobifera formation.

 

During the first 12 days of production, rates averaged 1,646 b/d of 35° gravity oil, 3 b/d of bs&w, and 544 Mcfd of natural gas. Choke sizes were 6-16 mm.

 

The well, drilled to 2,107 metres TD, is 0.8 kilometres south of the discovery well, SM x-1001.

 

Testing is under way of the second appraisal well, SM a-1003, which reached 2,103 metres TD about 0.9 kilometres north-west of the discovery well.

 

The wells are on the Angostura concession operated by Roch with a 20.28% interest.
